Downtown Seattle is growing and this is the place where everything is available. Residents and visitors in the area have fun. When visiting the downtown section of Seattle, visitors notice a growing economy, an easy to use transportation system, and a diverse urban environment.

 Downtown is the heart of Seattle. It is surrounded by Interstate Five north, Pioneer Square east, Elliot Bay south and Denny Way west. Here are a few more things that are good to know about this district.

The Downtown Seattle Association operates and manages Downtown Seattle. Downtown Seattle is also called the Metropolitan Improvement District. This district was established in 1999 to make the area safe, clean and enjoyable. Downtown Seattle is within 225 city blocks and revenues for services are received from property taxes.

What can tourists, residents and visitors do in this section of the city? They can find restaurants in the Pike Place Market. At this market, the crowds are large. Visitors can buy fresh fish and vegetables as well. The Chowder dining establishment is also a popular spot. The locals go here for chowder soups, seafood and American food. Market Grill is a seafood eatery. The food is so good that customers do not mind waiting in long lines.

Schedule a trip with family members or friends to Bainbridge Island. Bainbridge is the most popular tourist attraction spot in Seattle. The trip takes about 35 minutes. Residents and visitors will have access to 31 parks and recreational facilities on the island. The family can also enjoy shopping and see a movie at a theatre on the island.

Visitors and residents purchase this pass and go to six places to have fun in Seattle.  The pass allows visitors to go to the Space Needle, the Seattle Aquarium, the Pacific Science Center, plan a trip on the Argosy Cruise Harbor Tour, stop by the Museum of Flight or the Woodland Park Zoo. The pass is popular because customers do not have to wait in line.

Finally, Downtown Seattle is a good place for anyone that is planning to relocate to the area. There are future plans in the works to bring an elementary school to Downtown Seattle. The K-12 population is growing every year. Downtown has 12 neighborhoods that are willing to accommodate you and your family.
