Montmorency Falls is the tallest waterfall in Quebec and one of the most popular tourist attractions in Canada.

Montmorency Falls drops 270 beautiful feet at the end of the Montmorency River as it drops over a cliff face into the mighty St. Lawrence River about 7 miles north of the city of Quebec in Quebec Province, Canada. Montmorency Falls is a popular tourist attraction in Quebec and is protected inside Montmorency Falls Park.

At 270 feet in height Montmorency Falls is the tallest waterfall in Quebec and is almost 100 feet higher than Niagara Falls. Montmorency Falls is also 150 feet wide and is a spectacular sight to see at any time of the year but especially during the spring runoff or after heavy rains.

Montmorency Falls has been a tourist attraction in Quebec and thrilling visitors for over 400 years as the falls were named for the Duke of Montmorency of France by explorer Samuel de Champlain in 1613.

Montmorency Falls Park is reached along Highway 360 about 7 miles north of the city of Quebec. Inside the park there are a number of different ways for tourists and visitors to see the falls including a number of different staircases which lead visitors to many different viewpoints.

There is also a suspension bridge over Montmorency Falls which provides fantastic views of the falls as well as access to both sides of the park. And perhaps the most spectacular way of all to see the falls is from an aerial tram which operates between the base and top of Montmorency Falls.

However anyone views Montmorency Falls all visitors agree it is a spectacular site and a great natural wonder to behold. Most visitors would agree that a visit to the city of Quebec is not really complete with a visit to beautiful Montmorency Falls.
