My family and I had the pleasure of visiting Branson, Missouri a couple of weeks ago and the whole area offers lots of exciting things for families to do while they are are there. One of the many family attractions in Branson is the White Water Water Park. General Information: Located in the heart of the strip at 3505 West Highway 76 in Branson, White Water is not something you will easily miss. You can see a couple of their big slides right from the road. The park has over 13 acres of water slides, rides, and water fun. 2 million gallons of water keep guests wet from the May 18th to September 3rd (starting dates may vary per year). Admission is $30 per person for an all day pass but you only get that price during the special and you must go here: http://store.silverdollarcity.com/tickets/buy-tickets.aspx?propertyid=ww and get the details in order to get that price. Otherwise adult tickets are $40 plus tax, and kids are $34 (up to 11) plus tax, tax is around $5. Children under 3 are free, and seniors are $29.00. Rides: As a grown up one of my favorite things to do at the park is ride along the Aloha River at Hula Hula bay. This is an 800 foot water trail where you just sit in an inner tube and glide along. The path is set to look like a Polynesian jungle is is quite lovely. Don't get too relaxed though there are some things a long the way you will need to look out for such as fountains, misters, bubblers, and geysers. Also the 30 foot water tower just might dump water on you if you are not careful. Two of my three kids really liked the Bermuda Triangle which is a slide where you are basically inside of a tube, and for a bit it is dark which is cool to some and yet frightening to others. I did it once it was a neat experience but once was enough for me. Younger kids will enjoy coconut cove where they can safely play in the water while still getting wet they can spray and be sprayed and go on water slides that are made just for them. Kalani towers was really fun. This was something the kids and I wanted to do again right after we did it the first time. You lay on a mat to down this water slide face first. The hills are really exciting and fun. There was a Freefall that is 75 feet down. The slide has a 300-foot long drop. You can get going over 40 mph. So fun! Ohana Falls was another favorite mostly because the whole family gets on this big inner tube and travels along a path. You bump, and wind, and get wet and it is a lot of fun for everyone. The Pipeline plunge is kind of like a water tobogan, you sit on a two person tube and go along the watery path. It is not a scary or daring ride like a couple of the other rides but it is still a lot of fun. Raging River Rapids is a slide that you can go on if you want to race your friends or family. It is a double slide with a 200 foot drop. When you land you land in a pool of water. This is another fun slide that is not too intimidating. Splashaway Cay: This is another play type area for the kids. Older kids seem to love to make adults wet and in this fun wet play ground they were certainly able to. There are also some small slides in this area. One of my favorite things to do is the wave pool. When the pool is not waving it is just like a regular pool that everyone can swim and play in. The real fun begins though when the bell goes off and the next thing you know there are 4 foot waves coming at you. You can tube in to the waves or body surf. I personally love to body so I really enjoy it. The waves never seem to last long enough or come fast enough for me. The park also has shops, as well as cabanas if you want to get out of the sun. You can bring a picnic basket if you like and eat in the picnic area or you can buy something from one the eating places that sell food at the park. New in 2013 they will be having dive in movies. The only one left this year in 2013 is on August 8th and they will be showing High School musical 3. On Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays you can enjoy all of the activities at night up to 10:00 PM. This is from July 4th to August 10th.
